Vale Acupuncture is run by Octavia Walters, who is qualified in traditional Chinese medicine as a traditional Chinese acupuncturist and is also a qualified sports remedial therapist.
I am fully insured and am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists. I am also a member of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage and the Association of Soft Tissue Therapists.
Located in Evesham in my cosy studio, I can offer Chinese acupuncture, whether it be for energy problems, stopping smoking, fertility, detoxing and beauty. I can also offer facial massage, not only for relaxing the face, but also for dealing with teeth grinding and headaches.
What is Acupuncture?
Chinese medicine can be difficult for some to understand - in China the mind and body are not viewed separately, but as part of an energetic system. Similarly, organs and organ systems are viewed as interconnected structures that work together to keep the body functioning.
Many concepts emphasized in Chinese medicine have no true counterpart in our ‘western medicine’. One of these concepts is ‘Qi’ (pronounced ‘chee’). Qi is considered the vital force, or energy, which is responsible for controlling the workings of the human mind and body.
Qi flows through the body via channels or pathways which we call meridians. These meridians correspond to the organs and their functions. An imbalance in the flow of Qi causes illness and correction of this imbalance restores the body.
